Meet The Librarian

Shannon DeSantis Gile joined the staff of Peoples Academy and Peoples Academy Middle Level at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. Ms. Gile was born and raised in Central New York. She graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a degree in Childhood Education and continued her studies at Syracuse University earning a Masters degree in Library Science with a concentration in School Media Studies. Relocating to Vermont was one of the best decisions she has ever made! As PA and PAML's school librarian , she enjoys recommending books, teaching students, and troubleshooting technology issues. Outside of the library, she enjoys spending time with her husband and fellow school librarian, Matt, and their cats, Sebastian and Lin Manuel, reading, writing, playing violin with the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra, performing musical theatre with Lamoille County Players, and outdoor activities including disc golf and skiing.
