Business Need: I need a custom software system to open up a new line of business.

Solution: Analyze, develop, deploy, and maintain the custom software system, which is now generating $1MM in annual revenues. The solution included analyzing high level requirements and business needs, performing a make vs. buy decision, building a business model around the software, developing a feasibility prototype, completing development using a rapid development approach, deploying the solution, and maintaining the software post deployment. The software was hosted in a data center, with hardware, OS, and and Internet connections appropriately sized. This solution was built on widely available Microsoft technologies.

Business Need: My logistics and support organization doesn't serve my customer's needs. We are slow and inefficient.

Solution: Redesign an old style functional organization and transform it into a product focused organization with multi-functional cells responsible for each product. The project resulted in recurring cost reductions, expanded capabilities, and greatly increased service levels. This project was completed over a two year time period, and involved strategic planning and execution of the plan, attaining leadership buy-in, business process redesign for over 300 processes, reconfiguration and renovation of an industrial facility to accomodate the new processes, and organizational change management. Many processes were tightly integrated with information technology and were implemented in software.

Business Need: I want to acquire a business and integrate it into my existing business

Solution: Complete due diligence and integrate new employees, IT systems, and customers into the organization. Complete the financial models, employee assessment, implement communications plans, interview and bring over employees, migrate all projects and clients into the parent company, and succesfully transfer all project performance.

Business Need: I want to expand to support government projects, and I need facilities, IT support, and people

Solution: Manage the process from start to finish. The project included selecting among facilities options, building multi-year cash flows for the business plan, analyzing IT infrastructure needs, provisioning the hardware and software required, supervising the facilities buildout, supervising the building of a secret level holding facility, recruiting and staffing 46 new employees, and maintaining the operational capability.

Business Need: We need an offshore development team to be cost competitive

Solution: Research both captive and partner options and implement offshore software development capabilites though a partnered approach. Implement a full suite of collaboration, conferencing, and web based source control tools and best practices to leverage the offshore model. Ramp to a 20+ person team including offshore PM, tech lead, software engineers, and testers.
