Welcome to our Pre-K Class!!

We are so happy that your child is in our class and we are looking forward to a fun-filled school year!!!  

We have attached a bus, car or extended care tog to your child's backpack, depending how they are getting home for the year....please leave them attached.  This will help us and other staff members to be sure that they are in the correct dismissal line.  If your child rides a bus, we will attach a bus tag to their shirt each day.  Please send that bus tag back to school daily.  We will do this for a couple of months until we get to know all children in all classes. 

Please label all of your child's items.  (Lunch boxes, jackets, extra clothes, water bottles, etc.)

In Pre-K, belts are not required.  Please make sure to send your child in uniform clothing that they can easily put on and off.  Elastic waist bands are a great choice for Pre-k students.  Also, girls must wear shorts under skirts and jumpers, due to P.E. and recess activities.

We will send home a Snack calendar every month.  Your child will be assigned ONE day during the month to provide a snack for the class.  This can be both a snack and a juice or just a snack.  

Some examples of snacks are Goldfish crackers, cookies, chips, fruit snacks, Gogurts, etc.  You must send 20 individually wrapped store bought snacks.  You can send a day or two in advance if it helps but we ask that you don't send too far in advance because space is limited.  

Please send your child's blanket to school on Mondays.  It can get chilly at naptime.

We will keep their blanket in their cubbyhole Monday thru Friday and send all blankets home on Fridays to be washed.  Please be sure they come back with your child on Mondays. 

We will send a white communication folder home daily. Please check this folder each day for important information and send it back daily!!  This will be our main way of communicating to you each day.  I will send out emails and make phone calls as needed, as well.  

If you pay tuition, the monthly payment is due at the beginning of each month.  (first day) If it is not sent by the third day of the month, our Early Childhood Resource Coordinator will contact you about payment.  

Anytime payment is sent to school, please put it in an envelope with your child's name on it and place it in their daily communication folder.  

This week, We will begin our ALL ABOUT ME UNIT!!!  We will learn about our bodies and what makes us alike and different! We will make self-portraits, cut out red circles and Make a Mouse out of the letter M.  

We will learn the letter M and review circle, zero and Red.
