LPS Standards-Based Learning and Teaching: Grading Philosophy
"Being in Art Class is a wonderful experience. Being able to create feelings through art is amazing. In the art room, everybody is so open minded to everyone else's opinions and feedback and the students help others as much as you need and its just an overall welcoming feeling you get when you walk in."

Personal Information: I have been teaching art for 26 years to both middle and elementary students. This is my 18th year at Newton. I am a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Curriculum Development from St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT. I am also a National Board Certified teacher. In my free time you can find me at home with my family. Mr. Andrews teaches STEM at Newton Middle School. We have two sons, Kal, who is attending college at CU Boulder, and Weston who is at my alma mater, the School of Visual Art. I enjoy going to the various museums and galleries that the Denver area has to offer; I also enjoy cooking and baking, running, traveling, reading, hiking, and of course making art!
