Creative Writing II

Using our favorite childhood books as inspiration, we will play with imagery, figurative language, and poetic forms.

Taking on a favorite fairy tale or myth, we will explore and modernize its theme as we experiment with theme, characterization, setting, and narrative arc.

For the final in this class, we will celebrate our writing and "publish" our works in an informal, coffeehouse-style reading. We will also reflect on our journeys as writers.
