Welcome to Geometry class. This is the place you will find all of the daily assignments and important links posted on a daily basis. Please check in often.

Monday, May 9: We took the MAP test today.

Thursday, May 5: We learned how to write equations of circles and graph circles, plus some additional vocab dealing with circles. You were assigned a practice worksheet and an online assignment on Agile Mind that is due on Monday.

Wednesday, May 4: Today was the Topic 19/20 quiz.

Monday, May 2: We finished up the topic 20 practice worksheet and you received the review sheet for the topic 19/20 quiz, that will take place on Wednesday. Everything will be due on Wednesday.

Thursday, April 28: We finished the topic 20 activity sheet packets today and discussed them and topic 19 together. You were assigned a practice worksheet to practice working with properties of tangents. #1-15 is due on Monday for both groups.

Wednesday, April 27: We worked on the activity sheet packet for Topic 20 today. We are going to combine topics 19 and 20 and wrap them up next week.

Monday, April 25: Today we worked on some practice worksheets dealing with intercepted arcs, central angles and other circle properties. The worksheets are due on Wednesday.

Wednesday/Thursday, April 20/21: These were shortened days because of State testing. You worked on the Topic 19 packet during this period and it is due on Monday.

Monday, April 18: We worked on a practice test for the CMAS and PSAT tests that you will be taking this week. Once that was completed we began the circles unit by working on the activity sheet packets. Sheets 1 and 2 are due on Thursday.

Thursday, April 14: Today was the polygons quiz. You also had time to work on the More and Guided Practice which are due at the end of the day today.

Wednesday, April 13: We continued to work on the review packet for the polygons quiz. You were also assigned the Guided and More Practice for the unit and they are due at the end of the period tomorrow.

Monday, April 11: We wrapped up the polygon unit by completing SAS4 and discussing the homework on area using trig and special right triangles. #1-20 on the assigned review is due on Wednesday.

Thursday, April 7: We learned how to find the area of a regular polygon if the apothem was not given using trig. We completed a practice worksheet on this skill. Honors also learned how to use special right triangles to find the area of a regular polygon. The worksheets are due on Monday.

Wednesday, April 6: We learned how to find the area of a regular polygon if you are giving a side or perimeter and the apothem. The worksheet that you received to practice is due tomorrow.

Monday, April 4: We discussed and presented the activity sheet packet from last week. This took much of the period. Once that was complete, we began working on an area worksheet that was collected at the end of the period. There was not any homework assigned.

Thursday, March 31: We began working on Topic 18 dealing with polygons. We took quite a few notes today on properties of polygons and worked through the Agile Mind activity packet. By Monday, you should have completed Sheets 1-3 and question 1 on sheet 4.

Wednesday, March 30: Today was the Volume and Surface Area quiz.

Monday, March 28: Today we worked on a review of all of the 3D volume and surface area that we worked on before break. The quiz over the 3d shapes will be on Wednesday.

Monday March 7 - Thursday March 17: We worked on Volume and Surface area of 3d shapes with the sub as I was out. If you need assistance or papers, please see me.

Thursday, March 3: Today was the Spring Semester midterm.

Monday, February 29: Today we worked on a review packet to prepare for Thursday's midterm. You should work on finishing the packet/studying for the test and bring in your notecard for the test on Thursday.

Thursday, February 25: We presented the homework problems from last night and continued to work in that worksheet. You were then assigned a review sheet for topic 16 to practice on. There will not be a quiz over this topic, but it will be included on next weeks midterm.

Wednesday, February 24: We learned about the law of cosines today and did some examples as a class. You were assigned a worksheet for homework, and you needed to complete 1-4, 9 and 10 on that worksheet for tomorrow.

Monday, February 22: We discussed and presented activity sheets #1 and #2 as a class and learned more about the law of sines. There was a practice packet passed out in which regular needed to complete #1-10, honors #1-15 and 26-30 by Wednesday.

Thursday, February 18: Today was the Topic 15 quiz. After the quiz you received the Topic 16 activity sheet packet, which you need to complete sheets one and two in by Monday.

Wednesday, February 17: Today we reviewed the trig unit and special triangles to prepare for tomorrow's quiz. The homework is to complete the More Practice and Practice quiz online.

Thursday, February 11: We worked on a practice packet working with trig and inverse trig today. The packet will be due on Wednesday, and the quiz will take place that day as well.

Wednesday, February 10: Inverse trig was introduced today and you took notes on this topic. Activity sheet #4 was assigned today and due tomorrow.

Monday, February 8: We introduced Trig concepts today and started working through the activity sheets for Topic 15. Sheets 1-3 are due on Wednesday.

Thursday, February 4: We continued working on special right triangles. We started by working on multiplying and dividing radicals and then finished up the worksheet from yesterday.

Wednesday, February 3: We started working with special right triangles today. We learned about the different rules and a practice worksheet was assigned, which you needed to complete #1-5 on.

Monday, February 1: We spent the first half of the period reviewing the pythagorean theorem work from last week. The second half of the period was the quiz over it.

Thursday, January 28: Today we worked on the pythagorean theorem packet that was given out at the end of the period on Monday. We presented some of the problems, and if you weren't finished, it is homework for Monday.

Monday, January 25: Today was the Topic 13 quiz. You were also supposed to complete the More and Guided Practice for Topic 13. You were then assigned a worksheet to review pythagorean theorem that is due on Thursday.

Thursday, January 21: We reviewed the activity sheet packets from yesterday and worked on some practice problems on Geometric Mean and midsegment of triangles. The second worksheet is due on Monday.

Wednesday, January 20: We worked on Topic 13 today by completing the activity sheets. Those sheets are due tomorrow if you weren't finished.

Thursday, January 14: We used the first 30 minutes of class to work on and ask questions on the review sheet. The remainder of the period was used to take the Topic 12 quiz. The More Practice is due on Monday for homework.

Wednesday, January 13: We presented and discussed the dilations homework from Monday and worked on more dilations for practice. There was a review sheet passed out as well that is due tomorrow and the Topic 12 quiz will be tomorrow as well.

Monday, January 11: Today we wrapped up working with similarity and moved on to dilations. We learned about the scale factor and how to use that. Your homework is to complete #1-20 in the packet assigned in class for Wednesday.

Thursday, January 7: We discussed and handed in last nights homework and continued working on similarity. We learned about the similarity shortcuts and used them to complete a worksheet on similarity. If not finished, the worksheet is due tomorrow.

Wednesday, January 6: We began the similarity and dilations unit. We worked through some practice problems on proportions and some basic similarity concepts. Your homework is to complete the two similarity worksheets that were assigned by tomorrow.

SECOND SEMESTER:

Thursday, December 10: Today was a review day for the Final Exam. We spent the period working through the final study guide.

Wednesday, December 9: We played a matching game to review vocabulary for the final.

Monday, December 7: We worked on the Topic 10 Agile Mind packet in class today and played a review game to start to remember vocab words.

Thursday, December 3: We worked on the Topic 10 Agile Mind packet in class today and played a review game to start to remember vocab words.

Wednesday, December 2: Today was the Topic 9 quiz.

Monday, November 30: Today we reviewed the congruency postulates from before break to prepare for the quiz on Wednesday. We completed two worksheets to practice and the Guided and More Practice were assigned for homework due Wednesday.

Thursday, November 19: We discussed the activity sheet packets from Monday today and continued working with the triangle congruency postulates. There was a worksheet assigned to be completed in class to practice these postulates.

Monday, November 16: We worked on the Topic 9 activity sheets today and learned about the triangle congruency postulates. You need to have all of the activity sheets completed by Thursday, the next time we have class.

Thursday, November 12: Today we practiced working on medians, altitudes, orthocenters and centroids. We then took a partner mini quiz and the Topic 8 practice as partners as well. There was not any homework assigned.

Wednesday, November 11: We worked on the vocabulary and conjectures for Topic 8 including orthocenter and centroid. The homework is to complete page 2 of the assigned packet.

Monday, November 9: Today was the Topic 7 quiz, both written and online. After the quiz, the topic 8 activity sheet packets were passed out and those are due on Wednesday.

Thursday, November 5: We completed the Guided and More Practice for Topic 7 today in groups of 3. You had to show your work and turn the work in for these problems. A Topic 7 review sheet was passed out for homework and is due Monday. The Topic 7 quiz is Monday as well.

Monday and Wednesday, November 2 and 4: We worked on two worksheets working on triangle sums, and exterior angles with isosceles triangles. Both worksheets will be due on Thursday.

Thursday, October 30: Last nights homework was presented to begin the period. We then spent the rest of the period working on the Topic 7 activity sheets. All of the sheets are due on Monday.

Wednesday, October 28: We completed the practice problems from Topic 6 in class today and took a short quiz on topic 6 as well.

Monday, October 26: Today was the Fall Midterm.

Thursday, October 22: We worked on a review packet to prepare for the midterm that will take place on Monday. Your homework is to study the packet and make a notecard to prepare for the test.

Wednesday, October 21: We discussed the homework angle puzzle that was due today and began working on one more activity to practice angle puzzles and transversals. The worksheet is due tomorrow.

Monday, October 19: We worked on Topic 6 by discussing the activity sheet packets from last week. We also completed some practice worksheets working on parallel lines cut by a transversal. You had a worksheet on this assigned for homework and due on Wednesday.

Wednesday, October 14: Today was the Topic 5 quiz.

Monday, October 12: Today we practiced conditional statements and prepared for the topic 5 quiz. The quiz will be on Wednesday.

Thursday, October 8: We worked on wrapping up the activity sheet packets for Topic 5 today and learned about conditional statements, converses, and indirect proof. We will continue this on Monday.

Monday, October 5: Today we reviewed the Guided Practice that was due today and took the Topic 4 quiz. The More Practice was also assigned. Your homework is to complete Topic 5 Activity Sheets #1-2 by Thursday.

Thursday, October 1: We continued to work on proofs and factoring in class today. We completed the activity sheet packet for Topic 4 and worked on a worksheet to practice factoring. The worksheet is due on Monday along with the Guided Practice on Agile Mind.

Wednesday, September 30: We worked on SAS3 today working on geometric proofs. There was not any homework assigned.

Monday, September 28: Today you were given 30 minutes to wrap up the quiz from Thursday. After that, you were to complete the More and Guided Practice from Topic 3 if you hadn't already done so, and work on the Topic 4 activity sheets. You were to complete sheets 1-3 by Wednesday.

Thursday, September 24: Today we did some quick review over transformations before beginning the Topic 3 quiz. The More Practice was assigned for homework and due on Monday.

Wednesday, September 23: Today we reviewed the transformations practice sheets from Monday and continued wrapping up midpoint, slope, and distance. The Guided Practice was assigned for homework, due tomorrow, and your quiz is tomorrow.

Monday, September 21: Today we continued working on midpoint, distance formula, and all types of transformations. We will wrap this up on Wednesday and the quiz will be on Thursday. Your homework was to finish the practice packet.

Thursday, September 17: Today there was an introduction to how to compute the distance and midpoint between coordinates. We practiced this on a worksheet and you were also introduced to how to simplify radicals. You had a worksheet to practice this as well, and both worksheets are due on Monday.

Wednesday, September 16: Today you worked on the computers to complete SAS#2-4 in topic 3. If you didn't finish these three assignment sheets, they are homework for tomorrow.

Monday, September 14: Today we presented last weeks homework and worked on the More Practice to prepare for today's quiz. We then took the quiz and you were assigned Topic 3 Activity Sheet #1 for homework due Wednesday.

Thursday, September 10: Today we began with a warm up to cover rotational symmetry and then worked through some practice worksheets working on transformations. The Guided Practice was assigned and is due on Monday, and your topic 2 quiz will take place on Monday as well.

Wednesday, September 9: We began the period with a warm up to start working on transformations and then presented/discussed activity sheets 2-4 that was homework. We then finished activity sheet 5 and you were assigned a worksheet for homework, working on transformations.

Thursday, September 3: Today we discussed the homework from last night and continued to work through the Topic 2 packet. The work that is due on Wednesday (the next time we meet because of the holiday) is SAS2, SAS3 and SAS4.

Wednesday, September 2: We completed a year long pre-test today to begin the period, followed by working on the Overview of Topic 2 and questions 1-20 on SAS2. Any of the work not completed is homework due tomorrow.

Monday, August 31: Today we did a quick review to begin class before you took the Topic 1 quiz. There was an online and a written section of the quiz, and you were assigned the More Practice questions for homework.

Thursday, August 27: Today we wrapped up the presentations over Topic 1. We then finished up the angle bisector worksheet that was partially assigned on Monday. The homework for the weekend is to complete the Guided Practice that is assigned on Agile Mind by Monday. You should also study your notes and vocabulary for the Topic 1 quiz that will take place on Monday.

Monday, August 24: Today we presented the student activity sheets from last Thursday. We discussed and showed ideas on how to solve and construct different geometric terms. We will wrap these up on Thursday.

Thursday, August 20: Today we split up the three units within Chapter 1. You were assigned one of the three to become a "master" on and be ready to present the material to the class on Monday.

Wednesday, August 19: We discussed the homework that was due today and began working on your assigned section for the Topic 1 packets. We will continue working on this tomorrow. There was not any homework assigned.

Monday, August 17: Today in class we started topic one in Agile Mind, working with inductive reasoning. We completed Student Activity Sheet (SAS) 1 together as a class. You were assigned homework which was #6-20 on a worksheet that was passed out at the end of class.

Friday, August 14: Today we discussed the syllabus and starting working on a basic geometric shapes worksheet. The worksheet is homework for Monday.
