Pursuing Excellence in Education

5th and 6th Grade at Littleton Prep offers a rigorous curriculum balanced with formative experiential learning. Teaching children is what we do best, and developing an exceptional academic program is central to our mission.

Proactively fine-tuning our program is a continuous endeavor. Through our professional development, we continue to refine our program and remain focused on student learning. The benefit? We achieve intellectual excellence and prepare our students to be engaged citizens and thoughtful leaders.

5th and 6th grade at LPCS are considered to be the transitional years from elementary to junior high. Students have language arts, math, science, and social studies on a daily basis as well. In 5th and 6th grade we also work on becoming more independent, organized, and responsible in order to be prepared for the rigors of junior high, high school and beyond. Using planners are a must, as well as creating their own organizational system, and there is a focus on the responsibility and use of technology in the classroom.

Students in 6th grade get the opportunity to attend Outdoor Education. This opportunity is in Estes Park for 3 days and 2 nights at a YMCA camp where students focus on teamwork, collaboration, learning about nature, creating connections, and truly creating a cohesive 6th grade team. This great opportunity for the 6th grade students happens at the beginning of the school year so we have to opportunity to build off their experiences throughout the school year.

In 5th grade students attend Ameritowne and in 6th grade, students get the opportunity to attend International Towne.
