Course Description:
This class is an introduction to the world of culinary arts. Classes are comprised of a combination of formal instruction, food preparation labs, demonstrations and observations. The focus for the semester will be on culinary cooking techniques, professional kitchen equipment, culinary nutrition, baking and pastry, career opportunities, planning a catered event, and basic dining service. Aligns with CO Content Standards: Reading, Writing and Communicating #3 & #4; Mathematics #2 & #4 and Natl. Industry Standards.
