My name is Thom Uhl and I have been teaching high school and middle school for over 24 years. I was born and raised in Whittier, California, where I attended California Sate University of Fullerton, graduating with a degree in English.
Immediately after graduation, I joined Teach for America, where I was assigned to rural North Carolina.
I spent 4 years teaching in the public school system of N.C. at Southern Vance High School and Union High School and then spent 3 years teaching as a resource teacher at Eckerd Youth Alternatives. The birth of my amazing son, Townes, brought me to Colorado, where I taught 1 year at Wyatt Edison Middle School in the 5 Points area of Denver, and finally moved to Littleton High School where I helped build a program called Freshman Academy and began teaching 9th & 10th grade Language Arts as well as Poetry, Advanced Placement Literature & Composition, and Shakespeare.
Teaching is my passion and my bliss, and I believe in helping all of my scholars reach their perfectibility in academics and as human beings. In my free time, I adore riding my bike, watching my son play soccer, attending Colorado Rapids soccer games, hiking, spending time with close friends, attending concerts/comedy shows, bad puns, and perpetually cleaning up after my two, naughty dogs, Hobbs & Senor Pedro.
