The Importance of Mathematics

English Language Arts is defined by the U.S. Common Core as the subject that “asks students to read stories and literature, as well as more complex texts that provide facts and background knowledge in areas such as science and social studies. Once the transition from learning to read to reading to learn has been made, a student has reached the place in which learning can expand exponentially. Effective ELA instruction and skill development builds a foundation for students, sharpens their critical thinking skills, helps them learn other subjects, prepares them for college, and helps prepare students to enter the workforce.
