Eligibility - To Perform at Events After Making the Team
All cheerleaders will complete memory tests to assess their knowledge of team cheers and sideline dances (Fight Song and Dr. Who).
Cheerleaders will not be allowed to cheer at any games or any events including pep rallies until they pass all of their cheer memory tests. To pass a memory test, cheerleaders will not make more than 5 memory errors on a test composed of 5-6 cheers. Cheerleaders can be counted off for multiple memory errors within one cheer. A memory error is not made when poor technique is used (for example: twisted wrists, arms not completely straight, or motion not being sharp), a memory error only occurs when an incorrect motion is used during a cheer.
The total list of cheers will be divided into groups of 5-7 for each cheer test. Cheerleaders may retake cheer tests as many times as necessary to meet their requirements and improve their scores.
Videos of all required cheers will be provided to the students before the end of the school year in a shared Google Drive Folder. The cheers will be divided into individual cheer test folders. Each cheerleader is required to learn their cheers prior to summer camp. This will give the cheerleaders all of summer break to learn their required material. During camp, coaches and cheer sponsors will clean motion technique and memory mistakes. Cheer tests will begin the first week of school.
