Hello, my name is Beckie McKittrick and I am honored to be a part of the WSRS family.  I have a B.A. in English from Framingham State University and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University.   In addition to my education, I am trained in the Orton Gillingham Approach. This is my thirteenth year teaching kindergarten.  I have also taught first and second grade. I embrace the concept of developing the whole child. I believe that children learn through active involvement and play and that children represent their knowledge in a variety of ways. In my class, I will provide students with the tools they need to be active and engaged learners.  It is my goal to encourage and support them to become confident learners both in the classroom and out. I believe in using a multi-sensory approach to teaching (Click here: What is Multisensory Teaching?) our classroom community is built following Responsive Classroom (Click here: What is Responsive Classroom?  ) When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dog Emmie .The perfect day for me is reading a good book on a quiet beach.
