Welcome back students!

We will cover most of the questions you may have on Day 1 when we look over the syllabus, but I wanted to make some info available so you can access at all times. 

AR: 

AR is not optional, it is a grade. AR tests must be taken in my room where you will be closely monitored and tests are password protected. You will have to read 7 books per semester (2 will be with me in class at my pace, 5 on your own). For your 5 independent reads, you may read them in any order that you choose, but you must read specific genres for 3 of those, 2 will be free choice). All books must be 150 pages in length, be in or above your AR level, and be tested and passed on the Renaissance system. Due dates will be as follows:   For Book 1 AND 2 - Friday, Jan 31, 2025 For Book 3 - Feb 28, 2025   For Book 4 - March 31, 2025  For Book 5 - May 9, 2025

Daily Work/Quizzes/Tests:

Our work assigned in class will stay IN CLASS. Work does not leave the room, if taken by mistake, please know that it will be a zero because once it leaves the room, I cannot be positive that it is authentically YOUR work. My best advice is to work diligently in class and you will get it finished on time. 

Late Work Policy:

I do not accept late work. That's my policy. 

Cell Phones, Smart Watches, Energy Drinks:

Our board policy states that Cell phones are not to be used at school. If it must be brought for any reason, power it off for the whole day and secure in backpack in your locker.  I do NOT allow smart watches in my room. If you come in my room wearing one, it will be taken and turned into office til the end of day.  Energy drinks are not allowed on our campus. If seen with one, it will be confiscated.
