Practicum of Graphic Design/Yearbook

This class is designed for students who are interested in creating a historical document for Lockhart High School! Students will use 21st Century skills to create our yearbook such as writing, mathematics, word processing, using spreadsheets, presentation skills, working cooperatively with others, photography, photography editing, and copy editing. Students will learn how to not only take photographs of their peers, but how to edit and caption them. Students will also be involved in the marketing of the book and past yearbook issues using social media.

This year, this class will be a block schedule (extending to two normal class periods). This will allow students to have more time to work on all facets of the book and to work on their graphic design skills. This year, these students will be more involved than before in setting up the yearbook, selling/marketing the yearbook, selling/marketing ads to both businesses and students. The goal is for the students to run this class like a business and my practicum students will be the ones in charge of this business.
