Welcome

Students will:

·         Use their knowledge of word origins and word relationships to develop vocabulary.

·         Read at grade level by establishing a consistent reading habit that includes a variety of reflection exercises.

·         Closely read and respond to significant works of literature.

·         Write narrative, explanatory , and argumentative essays containing 4-5 paragraphs.

·         Write clear, coherent and focused essays which exhibit the students’ awareness of the audience and purpose.

·         Deliver focused, coherent presentations that convey ideas clearly and are appropriate to the audience.

·         Think and write critically about what they are learning.

·         Collaborate and communicate effectively and appropriately with peers on a daily basis.
