Dr. Jane Solose to Present Master Class for LMTA and Piano Recital

Dr. Jane Solose will present a piano recital on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3 pm in O’Donnell Auditorium, Rogers Center for Fine Arts, North 50^th & Huntington Avenue, as guest artist on the Bravo! Bösendorfer Piano Series at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Tickets are available at the door: $12 Adults, $10 Senior Citizens, $6 Students. A program can be downloaded below.

On Saturday, October 10 from 10:00 am to noon, Solose will conduct a master class with students of Lincoln Music Teachers Association (LMTA) members. The master class is free and open to the public. See www.LMTA.info for more information.

Biography

Jane Solose leads an active career as a featured concerto soloist, solo recitalist, chamber musician, duo pianist and master teacher that has taken her to Korea, Japan, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Russia, Argentina, Canada, and around the U.S. A native of Niagara Falls, Canada, she is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario in Canada. Dr. Solose received her DMA from the Eastman School of Music, where she was awarded their prestigious Performer's Certificate and was David Burge’s first teaching assistant. She also studied with William Aide, Myrtle Guerrero, Patricia Parr, George Lucktenberg (piano and harpsichord), and harpsichord with Greta Kraus and Arthur Haas, and performed in lessons, masterclasses and summer festivals for Guido Agosti, Damiana Bratuz, Leon Fleisher, Grant Johannesen, Peter Katin, Adele Marcus, Gyorgy Sebok, Abbey Simon, and Rosalyn Tureck.

Dr. Solose is listed on the distinguished international roster of Steinway Artists. Her three solo CDs were released by Capstone Records, Eroica Classical Recordings and Ravello Records. In 2011, Dr. Solose toured Eastern Europe where she presented solo recitals and master classes in Bulgaria and Hungary, and performed at the World Piano Conference in Serbia. In 2005 she presented solo recitals, lectures and master classes in South Korea, and performed Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the Gwangju Symphony. She has performed and presented at College Music Society conferences in Austria, Argentina, Japan, and in the U.S., at American Liszt Festivals and Alan Walker’s Great Romantics Festival in Canada. Her articles have been published in the journals 20th Century Music, Clavier and American Music Teacher.

Duo Solose, a duo-piano collaboration with her sister, Kathleen have performed to enthusiastic ovations. In 2008 they were invited to perform in St. Petersburg, Russia at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory and at Sheremetev Palace. In 2003 they toured Hungary, presenting concerts, master classes and lectures at universities and conservatories throughout the country. Their CD of duo piano works was released by Eroica Classical Recordings.

Dr. Solose is Professor of Piano and Keyboard Coordinator of Chamber Music at the Conservatory of Music and Dance, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and served as Chair of the Keyboard Division for over four years. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students as well as piano literature and pedagogy classes. Students of Dr. Solose have received high honors and awards in competitions and pursue academic and performing careers. Many of her former students currently hold teaching positions at universities and colleges worldwide.
