Laura Mitchell is the principal consultant and founder of LM Strategy LLC. Laura brings 15 years of experience in facilitation, community building, leadership development, strategic planning, marketing, and economic development to all of her work. In 2014, she founded LM Strategy LLC and has consulted across health care, nonprofit, municipal, banking, engineering, law, higher education, and regional associations.
Laura is a certified trainer and authorized distributor for Everything DiSCTM and 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive TeamTM and uses these tools extensively in her work.
Before consulting, Laura led programs at the United Way of Eastern Maine, Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce and Eastern Maine Development Corporation. Laura also worked for The Leggat Company marketing commercial real estate in Boston and as a strategic planner for Lot 21, an online web development and advertising agency, in San Francisco. Laura attended the University of Maine where she earned a B.S. and an M.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Resource Economics and Policy.
Laura values family, time for art, trail running, hosting friends, outdoor recreation, supporting vulnerable populations, cats, reading to learn, growing flowers and succulents, and building community. She has volunteered on a land trust board, served on a municipal historic preservation and planning board, and now is on the Orono Town Council.
