Google Search Cheat Sheet
- Keep it simple- Use keywords or phrases
- Take suggestions- Use suggestions to get ideas
- Try different search terms- Consider adding more keywords or different keywords
- Exclude words- By using a hyphen (-) at the beginning of a word, it will give results that do not contain it. Example: macaroni -cheese will search for the word macaroni, but not cheese.
- Search for an exact phrase- Put quotes around the phrase to search for an exact phrase.
- Refine your results- Use the options along the top of the search bar (images, maps, videos) to refine your search results.
- Find quick answers-
- Weather: Search weather for local weather or weather St. Louis
- Dictionary: Put define in front of a word to search its definition
