Acorn Equality Fund Scholarships
Thank you for your interest in an Acorn Equality Fund scholarship. Our scholarships are designed to provide academic financial support for gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered students, allies or the children of gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered parents. The 2016 scholarships range from $1000 to $5,000 with up to $40,000 being disbursed.
To be eligible, the applicant must retain permanent residence in the AEF service area (all Illinois counties except: Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will) and attend any accredited post-secondary educational facility. For more information click here

Coca-Cola Scholars Program
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is open to high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree at an accredited post - secondary institution in the U.S. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. Additionally, you must be one of the following: US citizen; US national; US permanent resident; temporary resident (in a legalization program); refugee; asylee; Cuban-Haitian entrant; or humanitarian parolee. AES Engineering Scholarship
Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. College JumpStart Scholarship Fund
The College JumpStart Scholarship Fund was founded in 2009 by Susan Lark of the San Francisco Bay Area and is funded through her generosity and corporate donations. All funds are used to support students. It takes many volunteers to make the College JumpStart Scholarship work -- from technical and customer support to judging all of our fabulous applications. Heisman High School Scholarship

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship
Imagine that your high school/college has been overrun with Zombies. Your math professor, the cafeteria ladies and even your best friend have all joined the walking dead. Use your brain to flesh out a plan to avoid the Zombies, including where you would hide and the top 5 things you would bring with you to stay alive. VFW Voice of Democracy
The Voice of Democracy Program is open to student in grades 9-12. The theme for 2016-2017 is: “My Responsibility to America”. Students should record their reading of the draft to a CD. Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2017 competition. Click to apply.
Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
College students are not eligible to apply.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

Andrew Flushe Scholarship
The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest requires students to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving. Applicants must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which raises addresses the severity of the problem. Click here to apply.

Hagan Foundation Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help high-achieving students from small towns and rural areas graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years to attend college. Recipients must enroll at an eligible four-year not-for-profit college or university the first semester following high school graduation. Five hundred more scholarships will be awarded in April 2021.

Equitable Achievement Scholarship
The Equitable Achievement Scholarship offers college scholarships of $10,000 and $25,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community, or the workplace. National Space Club Scholarship
Since 2013, The National Space Club and Foundation has offered the opportunity for a student to give the keynote address at the National Space Club and Foundation's annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, one of the space industry's most prestigious gatherings. The student must intend to pursue a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) fields, be academically strong and excel in public speaking.
In addition to speaking at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the individual selected will also receive a scholarship, in the amount of $10,000. This scholarship is awarded to a U.S. citizen, and is open to seniors in High School through graduate students studying at an accredited educational institution in the United States, who has definite plans to pursue a career in the STEM fields.
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
The scholarship is open to seniors in high school through graduate students.
The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests.
The applicant can only use the $10,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The applicant must not have previously spoken at the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner.
The applicant may apply for any of the scholarships offered by the National Space Club and Foundation (Robert H. Goddard Memorial Scholarship, Olin E Teague Scholarship, Keynote Scholarship) in the same year, but may only win one in the same year.

Civil Rights Defense Fund Youth Essay Contest
The NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund is sponsoring an essay contest celebrating the Second Amendment. $20,000 Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Scholarship
The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program honors student athletes who demonstrate excellence in school, on their sports teams, and in their communities. Whether you are the fastest on the team or the most supportive player, we want to hear how sports helped you grow into a strong leader at school and in your community. Verna Ross Orndorff Scholarship
The ISHS is offering a $1000 award for the best 1,500-word essay written by an Illinois high school student on the subject of Abraham Lincoln or the Civil War era in Illinois. The MENSA Foundations Scholarship Program
The MENSA Foundation's college scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written by the applicants. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need. You do not need to be a member of MENSA to apply. Click here for more information

Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship
Young people spend an average of 7.5 hours a day consuming media--and this doesn't include computer use for schoolwork--according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. With technology always at the ready at your fingertips, it can be a challenge to unplug. But taking a break from technology is healthy for both the mind and body.

John and Muriel Landis Scholarship
Administered by the ANS NEED Committee, a maximum of niFebne scholarships are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who have greater than average financial need. Consideration is given to conditions or experiences that render the student disadvantaged (poor high school/undergraduate preparation, due to poverty, etc.) Applicants should be planning a career in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field and be enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university located in the United States, but need not be U.S. citizens. The contest is open to U.S. residents. No purchase necessary. All participants must be enrolled as full-time high school juniors or seniors. Entries are limited to one submission per person. To apply, student will submit an essay with 2-3 photos of their volunteer efforts to help animals in need and how that involvement has changed their lives or shaped their perceptions on the importance of animal welfare. Baxter & Steinkamp Memorial Scholarship
The Western Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers is accepting applications for the 2024 Baxter & Steinkamp Memorial Scholarships.
This scholarship is for any seniors who are planning on majoring in engineering or a technical discipline. They have been awarding 2-4 scholarships up to $1000 each for the past few years.

#BeLikeGrace Scholarship
The #BeLikeGrace Scholarship is awarded yearly to a high school senior who exemplifies the pillars of #BeLIkeGrace. Faith, Kindness, Generosity, Compassion, Positivity, and striving to be the Best Version of yourself. Applicants should have a focus on seeing God and causing him to be seen within their own lives, and the lives of those in their community.
Scholarship funds can be used for any higher education or trade school needs. This includes but is not limited to tuition costs, book fees, and housing. Funds must be used one year from check issue date. The Scholarship will be awarded personally by the family to the applicant and will include a $2000.00 check.

J.L. Wade Scholarship
This $5000 scholarship is for students in the counties of Pike, Calhoun, Scott, Greene, and Adams. There is an emphasis on students pursuing degrees to promote the study of nature and the preservation of the environment and supporting studies related to nature (e.g. agricultural science, atmospheric science, coastal zone management, environmental engineering, environmental chemistry and toxicology, environmental health, environmental law, fisheries management and conservation, marine biology, etc).

Better Business Bureau Student of Ethics Scholarship
This is a Junior scholarship - The Better Business Bureau Student of Ethics Scholarship is a one-time reward of $2,500. This is open to high school juniors. Students will be competing with the entire BBB St. Louis area for this, which is more than 100 counties in southern Illinois and most of Missouri. Application details were emailed to Juniors from Mr. Adams. Please stop by the office if you have any questions or need a copy of the application.

Quincy Charter Chapter Impact Scholarship
The Quincy Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is sponsoring a $2000 impact scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic year funded through the Stephen Bufton
Memorial Educational Fund. Below are the eligibility requirements, guidelines, and procedures to complete the application process.
