Be sure to bring three judging forms for each performing group. You can find the forms you need to download from the IHSSA site by clicking FORMS here.
Add/drop/substitution changes need to be submitted through the IHSSA LG Change Form.
Drop-off and Parking: Coaches, please instruct your bus drivers to drop students off in front of the high school, which is at the north end of the high school/middle school complex.* Students should enter at High School Entrance A and proceed north (right) to Carey Gym. All buses should then park on the south side of the middle school on Callahan Drive. Doors will open at 6:30 AM.
*One Act, Readers Theatre, and Choral Reading set pieces and props may be brought in
through Middle School Entrance A and stored in the Middle School North (Old) Gym.
*Store your big props, chairs, and tables in the Middle School North Gym beside Center 3,
NOT in the HS gym!
*Use the MS gym for Musical Theatre, Choral, Readers Theatre, and One Act warm-up.
Dressing rooms: You may use the boys' and girls' locker rooms near Carey Gym (the home base for all groups) for dressing rooms for One Act, Choral Reading, and Mime. The locker rooms in the middle school across from the Middle School North Gym will also be available. Avoid using the already-inadequate rest rooms for dressing. Please apply makeup in the locker rooms, not in the gym. The locker rooms also have restroom facilities.
Warm-up rooms: Small groups should use Carey Gym for warm-up, and bigger groups like One Act, Readers Theatre, Choral Reading, and Musical Theatre should use the Middle School North Gym beside Center 3, where big props, chairs, and tables should be stored. Tech warm-up is in room 124.
Spectators: Parking is available in the north high school lot, in front of both schools, and in limited access along Callahan Drive at the south end of the middle school. Spectators may enter at High School Entrance A or Middle School Entrance A only. (We know it's a little confusing, but each entrance is at the front of its respective school on 3rd Avenue.) Please do not open locked entrances to let people in.
A donation of $3 per person is requested to support our speech program. Please keep the noise down in the hallways. Keep in mind that the schedule is approximate, so report to centers early and check back often. Centers 1-3 are in the middle school, Centers 4 and 5 are in the connecting hall between the middle school and high school, and Centers 6-15 follow a counterclockwise loop in the high school.
Information for Students: The main gathering areas will be the gym and the lunchroom; ratings will be available in both places and online through this site. Loud music devices are not allowed. Please keep the noise down in the hallways. Use the MS gym, not the HS gym, for Musical Theatre, Choral, Readers Theatre, and One Act warm-up. Keep in mind that the schedule is approximate, so report to centers early and check back often.
Please stay and eat in the building to help our speech teams earn money.
