WHAT DO I DO WHEN...
MY LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON?
Connect the laptop to its power supply
Press & hold the following keys at the same time: left shift, control, option, and power
Release all keys at the same time
Press & release the power button to turn the computer back on
MY DESKTOP WON'T TURN ON?
Unplug the white power cord from the back of the computer
Hold the power button for 15 seconds and release
Plug the white power cord into the back of the computer
Press the power button to turn the computer back on (You may have to press the power button a couple of times.)
I CAN'T PRINT IN COLOR TO FOLLOW ME?
File
Print using system dialog (near the bottom of the print window)
Choose Follow Me in the Printer: dropdown
Click on the dropdown below Presets, it is probably currently set to Copies & Pages
Choose Printer Features
Choose Color in the Color Mode: dropdown
Click Print
It may look a little different depending on the program, but you always need to Print using system dialog and choose FollowMe and click a dropdown somewhere below that to get to Printer Features.

THAT PESKY KEYCHAIN MESSAGE KEEPS POPPING UP?
Continue clicking Cancel until you get logged in (It may take many clicks.)
Go to Self Service (the little white circle with the colorful wheel)
Clear Keychain
Allow the computer to Reboot
KRONOS NEEDS JAVA UPDATE?
Click this link to a non-Java version of KRONOS.
This is what all KRONOS users need to use because the Java version is no longer supported. If you click in the upper right hand of the initial window once you log in, you can make selections to see everything you can see in the Java version.
MY LAPTOP WON'T CONNECT TO LISD-WIFI?
Go to the Library to use an ethernet adapter
Use the ethernet cord available in the library or from any desktop computer
Plug the ethernet cord into the adapter and the adapter into your laptop
Restart your computer - Do not select LISD-Guest because you are now hardwired to the network.
Launch Self Service (white circle with colorful square on the dock)
Log in to Self Service
Choose Tasks from the menu on the right hand side
Run Connect to LISD-Wifi - Let this run completely. You will hopefully see an ! over your wifi icon on your laptop
Restart your computer
If you are still not connected to LISD-wifi, please submit a help ticket.
MY PROJECTOR/DOCUMENT CAMERA WON'T TURN ON?
Check all connections to make sure everything is plugged in tightly including the cord that connects the document camera to the power supply
MY PROJECTOR LAMP LIGHT IS RED?
Submit a Help Ticket, so your campus tech can repair or replace it. Borrow a spare projector from the following locations if desperately needed.

Submit a Help Ticket, so your campus tech can repair or replace it. Borrow a spare projector from the locations above if needed.
Filter may need to be cleaned. If you'd like to try to clean it on your own, you can pull the filter out while the projector is off and thump it to remove most of the dust; then put the filter back in and try turning on the projector again.
MY PROJECTOR IMAGE IS TINTED PURPLE OR GREEN?
That usually means a connection is loose or the adapter (dongle) or one of the VGA cords is defective. 1st: Tighten all the cord connections. 2nd: Try switching your adapter out for a teammate's adapter. 3rd: Try switching out your VGA cord for a teammate's VGA cord. If you find that the adapter or VGA cord are defective, submit a help ticket to request a replacement.
I NEED TO GIVE MY STUDENTS THEIR LOGINS?
Computer log in for students
User name: lastname(only the first 8 characters)_student ID
Password: yyyymmdd (birthdate)
Google log in for students for Chromebooks
Email: first.last##@k12.leanderisd.org (## = last 2 digits of student ID)
If last name has hyphen or apostrophe or more than 1 name, you leave out any spaces or punctuation and put the whole last name together.
Password: yyyymmdd (birthdate)
If you are not sure about a student's Google log in, here's a handy way to check. Open a Google doc and click Share, then begin typing the student's name until their name pops up.
