Tutorials & TRFs

AVID tutorials are not like regular core class tutorials. On Tuesdays and Thursdays students are required to come to class with a question they find confusing from one of their core classes. The best time to find these questions is when you are doing your homework for other classes or after a quiz or a test. Students must complete a Tutorial Request Form (TRF) prior to class. It's really easy to do if you complete it as soon as you see something you're confused about. During class students are placed in small groups with a "tutor" to guide the group. Participants in the groups use Socratic questioning (I'll teach you!) to lead the student presenting their point of confusion to understanding. It's really an amazing process.
