Hello! Welcome to my classroom website. I'm Rachel Hoyle, and this is my fifth year teaching at Vandegrift and my eighth year with LISD! Prior to transferring to VHS, I taught at Vista Ridge for three years and was the Head Cheer Coach there. I have been married to my goofy better half for four years now; we are expecting our first child this December!

Please note: It is up to you to check my website and Google Classroom. Assignments and resources and a live calendar will be posted on Google Classroom. I will update it as often as possible. I highly recommend keeping an agenda. Additionally, if you are absent, you are responsible for any assignments you missed, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or are struggling with any work.

Google Classroom Resources

Parents and Guardians,

Ask your student for an invitation to join our Google Classroom for 2020-2021 as a Guardian in order to receive important classroom information. All you need to do is share your preferred email address with your student in order for them to send you an invitation.

What does this mean exactly? When guardians join a student’s Google Classroom, they receive regular, automatic email summaries. Guardians choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and can unsubscribe at any time.

Guardian email summaries include:

• Missing work—Work that’s late at the time the email was sent
• Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)
• Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers
