About Me

My name is Mr. Valles, and I am your 2024-2025 ELA/Advanced ELA teacher.  I look forward to teaching you this year! We're definitely going to have lots of fun. 

I'm originally from Chicago and used to travel to Austin every year to visit family and attend the SXSW music festival (I'm a music lover).  In January of 2012, I decided to make the move here and never looked back.  Since then, I've become a husband and a father, and I couldn't be happier. I love reading, listening to records (or music in any format), writing, gaming, watching movies, hanging with the family, and doing anything outdoors.    

I have a bachelors degree in English/Secondary education from Northeastern Illinois University, and this will be my 12th year at Stiles.

I am passionate about teaching, and my goal is to provide you with the skills that you need to be strong critical thinkers, readers, and writers while also preparing you for the big step to high school.
