WHO ARE WE?

Meet Coach Abigail Pando!

Hi, Comets! My name is Coach Abigail Pando, and I am so excited to be your P.E. teacher!

I attended Angelo State University on a track scholarship, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with coaching and decided to make it my career. I moved to Central Texas, where I am now in my 29th year of coaching! I have loved every minute of being able to encourage students and athletes to be active, work hard, and have fun.

Outside of school, my husband Ricky is a sergeant for the CPPD, and we have two amazing boys, Luke and Jake. Luke is currently a junior at VR, and Jake is entering his second year at Wayland Baptist University, where he will be playing football. They are also ex- Comets! So proud of both of our boys!

Our family also includes two very spoiled and energetic Boston Terriers, Ginger and Graycee, who we absolutely love!

I am looking forward to an exciting, fun-filled, and energetic year in P.E. for all of our Comets, from Kindergarten through 5th grade! In the gym, students will learn a variety of games, team sports, and activities while discovering the importance of staying active and healthy.

My goal is for every student to have a memorable year filled with movement, teamwork, laughter, and fun. Most importantly, I hope they leave P.E. each day excited to be active and continue building healthy habits for life!

Meet Coach Jill!

Hi! My name is Jill, and I am excited to be a part of the Cox Elementary family as an assistant P.E. coach. I love working with children and helping create a positive, welcoming, and encouraging environment where every student feels supported and confident. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, photography, arts & crafts, and playing with my dog. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our students, families, and staff, and I look forward to a great school year!
