2025-2026 is my 22nd year of teaching and coaching in Texas and my 11th year at Vista Ridge. My teaching and coaching career has taken me to several different places and allowed me to teach and coach many different subjects, sports, and students.
I taught AP Calculus AB at Round Rock Stony Point for 3 years, and am in my tenth year of teaching Calculus at Vista Ridge. I have been a reader for the AP Calculus BC exam for 5 years. Calculus is a very exciting content, and I am thrilled to be able to teach Calculus at Vista Ridge.
I am from a family of educators where I learned from an early age the value of education. Through the passion I bring to the classroom everyday, I hope to instill a love of learning as well as inspire my students to value mistakes as just another way to learn and grow. While math may be my subject of expertise, I love teaching because I love working with students, and I value the opportunity to help them achieve their goals and encourage them down their own path.
I love being a part of the Vista Ridge family of Rangers and am excited about the 2024-2025 year!
The 2025 cohort of AP Calculus BC students at VRHS received extraordinary scores. 100% of students sat for the exam and 96% (108/112) received a recommended score of 3 or higher. Of those students 86 (77%) earned a 5! What an amazing feat for this group of students!
The 2024 AP Calculus BC VRHS cohort received stellar scores with 100% of students sitting for the exam and 92% (81/88) receiving a recommended score of 3 or higher. Out of those scores, 56 students (64%) earned a 5. The 2023 testing group saw 88% of BC students (69/77) earn a 3 or higher with 48 students (62%) earning a 5.
I am extremely proud of their hard work and determination. The scores are only part of the narrative, but we truly believe we are preparing students for their next steps after high school by engaging in college level content, but also learning how to problem solve and collaborate more effectively. This class is just as much about learning time management, how to work in teams, and what to do when you face a challenge, as it is about derivatives, integrals, and series. All of these skills are propelling Vista Ridge students to be successful in their next steps after high school and truly be the best for the world!
