I expect students to develop appropriate workplace behaviors in addition to learning course content. Classroom expectations have been set with this goal in mind.
Cell Phones: Research tells us that cell phone use at school lead to decreased focus, negative grade impact, and reduce long-term learning retention. That is also true in the workplace. Thus, cell phones will NOT be used in our classroom. In fact, cell phones will be stored away from the students in our classroom.
Food, drink, candy, and gum are NOT allowed in our classroom. Our room is a computer lab and the potential for damage is too high. Eat and drink before you arrive. Keep food and drink stored in your backpack. If your drink might spill, leave it on the back counter by the sink.
Respect the LISD student handbook.
Be on-time.
Be prepared.
Be respectful: to yourself, to teacher, to classmates, and to the resources in the classroom including our computers.
Utilize your resources. Ask a peer first, then ask me when help is needed. In the workplace, you will first ask a co-worker before asking the boss.
Make every effort to tend to your personal needs before or after class.
You must have teacher permission to leave the classroom. It is a CAMPUS POLICY that only ONE student will be allowed to leave at a time. You will sign out legibly (so I can read it) with your name and time on the sign-out board and then erase your info on your return.
No one leaves the class in the first 10 minutes or last 10 minutes of class. This is a RHS administration expectation.
Before you leave your desk please clean up after yourself, through away any trash, sign out of the computer, sanitize your workspace, and push in your chair.
