SCIENCE IS KNOWLEDGE - EVER GROWING, EVER CHANGING. THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE MORE THERE IS TO KNOW.

You may often ask why you need to learn biology (or any science) and when you will ever need to use it outside the classroom.  All you have to do is take a look at the world around you and take a look at yourselves.  Biology is everywhere and by understanding it, we can better understand ourselves and our connection to our environments.  It is not so much about being able to memorize scientific facts, but the development of critical thinking and reasoning skills that are developed that make a science a core subject.
