Recommendation: I wanted to let you all know about a new thing I found called classroomscreen.com. It was developed by a teacher in the Netherlands who was looking for some way to display all that
he needs on one screen during a given class. You just go to the website, choose a background, figure out which widgets you want to use on the bottom, and display it on your SmartBoard. It has a timer, a clock, and you can even make class lists and use it to choose who you call on next.

Synopsis: Zip Grade is an app for your phone where you can put kids into classes and subjects and then you can make a key for a test using an answer sheet provided on the website. Then your phone turns intoa scantron! You get 100 free scans a month, or can you pay 6.99 for unlimited scanning for a year.

Synopsis: Randomly is an app for your phone. You put all your students' names for one class in and it randomly selects students to be called on (at random or non-participants) It also groups students.

Swivl
Synopsis: You can use the swivl to record yourself to watch and reflect. You do not have to share it with anyone but it can be used as an opportunity to get a second set of eyes to assist in reflection. Ms. Lundt can assist you in set up. Synopsis: I have used Newsela to provide articles for the students to read about current events in science. The science standards require students read more scientific literature. This website has articles broken down into all subject areas.

Synopsis: Edpuzzle is free interactive website that allows the teacher to select videos to elevate student engagement. Through the search option, the teacher has the freedom to choose from multiple video sites and includes pre-modified videos in the Edpuzzle section. These videos include stopping points for questions and discussion. It's also an easy way for the teacher to modify any video to fit the purpose of a lesson. Mrs. Busch Uses EdPuzzle and Windows MovieMaker together to create a preview and anticipation activity for a video.

Synopsis: CommonLit is free website with a collection of fiction and nonfiction texts. Using CommonLit you can search for text in specific theme, genre, literary device, or common core standard.

Synopsis: Provides Thousands of worksheets based on various math concepts. Great resource for clarification of a math topic, or providing more or less challenging work for students based on their needs. These worksheets can be customized and manipulated.

Synopsis: Prodigy is a math website for K-8 that allows students to work at their level. As the students battle wizards they are gievn math problems to solve. The program runs a placement test as the students first start the game, it also generates data on the student to show what skills they have mastered and what skills they are struggling with. It is aligned with the common core and you can assign students to work on specific types of problems. It is free when teachers set up and enroll students.

Synopsis: Bookshare is a website that helps locate books for students. It can also read the books aloud to students and make the font bigger so it is very useful for some of my special education students. You can assign books to students for them to read and keep track of how much they have read at any given time.
