About Me
With a master's degree in Education and certification in English and journalism, I have been teaching for 22 years. I started at Lawson High School in 2001, and secured the position of 7th grade English teacher three years later. I love teaching middle school students in this district due to their excitement, honest and unfiltered answers, and genuine respect that has been instilled in them in this community.
At LMS, I sponsor Literary Society, a small group that is passionate about reading and discussing books in a social setting. I also offer tutoring after school on Mondays and most Wednesdays (I have meetings on the first and last Wednesdays of each month). I am happy to arrange other tutoring by appointment to meet students' needs.
I grew up in Gallatin, MO; attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville; married in 1995; and have seven children of my own. I love to read and write and am passionate about animal welfare and rescue.
