Welcome to 7/8 LASS*!

Welcome to LASS (Language Arts and Social Studies). This year we are focusing on the rights of children and young people around the world using the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as a framework. This year we will be tackling various topics that have historically given rise to activism while analyzing the status of countries regarding adherence to human and child rights. Students will delve into worldly narratives, exposing them to multiple viewpoints in order to challenge our own cultural assumptions and practices. LASS will follow a semester model rather than a quarterly model to better accommodate these complex connections. We will have summative projects at the end of each semester (December and May/June).
