ATC Showcase

On 5th Sept 2014, we have loan a few new equipment for everyone to use for production in the studio.

Item #1: ATC SCM25A

The speaker is designed to be positioned horizontally and it features a 7" paper-cone woofer, ATC's ubiquitous 3" midrange dome and a 1" soft-dome tweeter - all hand-made. The tri-amped with 235watts each. The crossover points are listed as 380Hz and 3.5kHz. with only a 0-3dB continuously-variable bass boost and 0-6 dB input attenuation trim.

ATC says that the SCM25As are well suited to broadcast applications and smaller control rooms, where some of the larger ATC monitors might not be appropriate. Accordingly, the dispersion is very tightly controlled, with a nominal 80 degrees horizontally and 10 degrees along the vertical axis, which ATC say makes for a wide sweet spot and an optimum balance of direct to reverberant

sound.
