The Pearson Mathematics curriculum uses technology to engage students both in and outside the classroom. It exposes students to a variety of problem structures to develop a conceptual, problem based interactive, and virtual learning environment. This book encourages not only memorization but also understanding of and critical thinking about mathematical concepts. The units we study in 5th grade focus on factors and multiples; operations with integers: using percentage operations with fractions and decimals; shapes and angles and their relationships; and data collection and statistical analysis. If your child has difficulty with his/her basic facts, please start reviewing them. Through our study of math, we are able to learn a little more about our amazing Creator God!
