Madison Heights Public Library – Check out Madison Heights Summer Reading Program: Libraries Rock! Summer reading programs through the library always include FREE books & prizes.
The Michigan Electronic Library – Check out mel.org for loads of free e-books, audio books, and other great resources.
Barnes & Noble Summer Reading – This summer reading program through Barnes & Noble gives you the ability to earn a FREE book after reading 8 books and keeping track of them in a reading log.
Scholastic Summer Challenge – Log in your reading minutes to the Scholastic site and you will be able to participate in a World Record challenge as well as earn digital prizes!
Chuck E Cheese: You can keep track of your reading through one of the rewards calendars. Once you have completed two weeks of reading you can submit the completed Chuck E Cheese calendar for 10 free tokens! (Lots of other great incentive/reward sheets available)
BookShare: is a free program also known as Books Without Barriers. It makes books accessible to everyone!
New York Times Summer Reading Contest:The 13th annual New York Times Summer Reading contest is just for students ages 11-19. Students are able to tell the NYTimes why they loved or disliked a particular piece and each week they publish the best comments. The NYTimes.com has a digital subscription system which gives readers free access to 20 articles each month.
Camp Wonderopolis:Camp Wonderopolis is a free online summer-learning destination that’s full of fun, interactive STEM and literacy-building topics boosted by Maker experiments! Keeping kids and their families learning together throughout the summer and out-of-school time, Camp Wonderopolis can help build vocabulary, background knowledge in science, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and other literacy skills along the way. When you register as a Camper (kids of all ages) or Counselor (parents, community and library program staff, teachers), you’ll enjoy free learning through wonder.
Sync Summer Reading Program for Teens: Sync has a summer reading program just for teens (ages 13+) that will get them 2 free audio books each week this summer. Each week there will be a current young adult book as well as a classic title that teens will be able to download for free through the OverDrive app.
Books-A-Million Summer Reading Program: Kids can get a free pencil case with pencils this summer with the Books-A-Million summer reading program.The kids must read 4 of the qualified books, fill out a journal form to show which ones they read, and return it to any Books-A-Million store.
