38th ANNUAL
LAKE PARK HIGH SCHOOL
LANCER JOUST 2016
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The 2016 Lancer Joust will be held on Saturday, September 10. The show will again be a prelims/finals format on our TURF FIELD. First place in each class plus the next seven highest scores will advance to finals competition in the evening. Lake Park will perform in exhibition in both prelims and finals.
New this year: Registration will be done online. Order of online entries will help determine performance order for prelims. Prelims will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a maximum enrollment of 24 bands. If you have any special considerations (multiple band events in the day, long travel distance, etc.), please communicate your request ASAP prior to June 1st.
Classification is by the number of playing members, be they marching, standing, or sitting. Someone who plays an instrument, any instrument, is a playing member. (Color guard and drum majors are excluded from this number for classification purposes.)
Class: Class “A” (up to 56)
Class “AA” (57-96)
Class “AAA” (97+)
The entry fee is $200.00, payable to the Lake Park Band Auxiliary upon application. Please submit payment ASAP once you have registered online. An invoice can be requested when registering and it will be e-mailed to the director.
As always, we will bring in a panel from around the country to give us all insight into our programs. We will have adjudicators in the areas of music performance, visual performance, as well as music and visual general effect. We will also have percussion and guard caption judges during the preliminary competition. Judges so far include: Dean Westman, Randy Isoda, Mark Ponzo, Ken Snoeck (finals), Marie Czapinski, Kyle Miller, Paul Wiercioch, Kevin Lepper, and Frank Bischoff (timing).
A special “thank you” to all of the bands that entered last year’s Lancer Joust. We had wonderful weather and a great panel of judges. All of the bands did an outstanding job. We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 10 for the 2015 Lake Park Lancer Joust!
