Teaching Experience 

I always dreamed of being a teacher! From playing school with the neighborhood kids on my parent's front porch, or  asking my teachers for extra worksheets for my make-believe home classroom. Keep reading to find out more about my teaching experience...

After college, I taught Graphic Arts at MCCTC for one year, Title Reading/Permanent Substitute for one year, first-grade for five years, and this will be my twelfth year teaching fifth-grade!

I love Reading and Writing and look forward to sharing this passion with you!

Family

Almost 10 year-old son, Benson, born October 2015.

Calico cat, Reese (7 year old, rescue). 

Shepherd/Husky mix dog, Sammy (1 year old, rescue).

Associate's Degree in Graphic Design in 2002

Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's in Education in 2008

Walden University with a Master’s in Reading and Literacy in 2011

Currently studying for a second Master's in Speech & Language Pathology

Interests

Spending time with my family and friends, reading young adult literature, working on DIY projects around my 110-year-old home, gardening, outdoor activities,  swimming in our pool, and traveling our beautiful country.

I LOVE to eat! There are not too many things that I don't like, but my favorites are chips & salsa/guacamole/queso, sushi, seafood, Mexican, dark chocolate, and ice cream!
