As a member of teaching staff at Koya University, Faculty of Science and Health, department of mathematics.
I am teaching the following courses at Koya University namely;
1- Abstract Algebra( third stage, Mathematic Dep.)
2- General Topology. (fourth stage, Mathematic Dep. )
3- Mathematics. ( First stage, Chemistry Dep.)
4- ordinary differential equations ( Second stage, Chemistry Dep.)
5- Advance Engineering Mathematics (Second stage, Petroleum Engineering Dep.)
6- Mathematic II (Second stage, Geotechnical Engineering Dep.)
7- Mathematic I (First stage, Chemical Engineering Dep.)
My Teaching Philosophy
I base my teaching on the belief that the only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics. While the process of reading examples and proofs in textbooks and from lecture notes is valuable, the real learning comes through one's own efforts at solving mathematical problems, either computational, theoretical, or both.
This is achieved mostly through class assignments, but also through in-class discussions and exercises. I view my role as a facilitator for this process. I must design the framework in which learning can take place, and then stimulate and nurture the students' development, giving help in terms of knowledge, techniques, and encouragement.
When I think about my role as a lecturer, the one thing that I constantly have focused on is the relationships that I have built with my students. I enjoy having conversations with them on subjects and issues that are important to them, always try to explain for them where is the application of this stuff in our lives and why it is important and learn how they are feeling about and experiencing the world and the material that we are studying in class.
I believe that a good relationship between a Lecturer and his/ her students are built on a strong foundation of mutual understanding and we need to give enough time to think about the problems and the way to solve it and explain for them his/ her ideal is very important.
So in particular my goals in teaching are not just to promote learning of the subject matter. I also try to help the students learn to think logically, learn problem-solving methods and techniques, how can use it in real life and improve writing skills (writing clearly and concisely, explaining step-by-step processes, providing valid reasons for logical arguments).
