Outline Biography
Mariwan is an MSc graduate working as an Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering/ Civil Department. He joined Koya University in 2008. He has further experience in the field of Civil Engineering since 2001 in other NGO and governmental organizations.
He gained a B.Sc. degree in Building Construction from Sulaimany University in 2001, M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering from Sheffield University in 2014 in the UK.
Since 2015-2016, Mariwan becomes an academic lecturer and to date, he continues. Before that and during the past fourteen years (for the duration from 2001 to 2015), he gained much experience in his field of work, i.e. civil engineering, and with a package of valuable experience and updated studies during his MSc course, he plans to be a leader in the teaching field as well.
Since 2001, he is a member of the Kurdistan Engineer's Union. Currently, he is a Consultant Engineer.
Recently, in 2016, he becomes a member of the Kurdistan Teacher's Union with ID number: 1927.
Research Interests
Mariwan's research interest includes the following fields;
1. Analysis and Design of a three-story R.C.C frame Building, BSc thesis.
2. Environmental Impacts of using Different Materials & Methods of Construction; UK vs Kurdistan.
3. Exploring the elements of Sustainability within the Traditional houses of Koya city.
4. Investigating the reasons behind the failure of concrete in Kurdistan projects.
5. Design of Water supply & Sewerage systems for buildings.
6. Feasibility studies at the planning stage.
7. Torsional Strength of FRP-reinforced Concrete Box Girders.
