Bestun J. Shwan has a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering, unsaturated soil mechanics, graduated from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. Dr. Shwan acts as the head of the Geotechnical Engineering Department (DGEN). Dr. Shwan acted as a lecturer in DGEN since 2007.
Dr. Shwan is responsible to teach several topics such as:
1. Foundation Engineering
2. Soil Mechanics III
Dr. Shwan has two main fields of research:
1. Unsaturated soil mechanics
2. Computational analysis
