From New York to Paris, from ragtime to jazz, THE HELLO GIRLS chronicles the story of America’s first women soldiers in this new musical inspired by history. Set against the backdrop of World War I, this thrilling musical follows the journey of a group of courageous women who served as bilingual telephone operators on the front lines, playing a crucial role in helping turn the tide of the war. After the war, these intrepid heroines returned home to fight for recognition and equal rights, enduring a decades-long battle that paved the way for future generations.
Commissioned and premiered by NYC’s Prospect Theater Company to mark the centennial of their service, THE HELLO GIRLS is a timeless tale of strength, resilience, and the pursuit of equality. With its vibrant score and inspiring characters, this musical celebrates the untold story of these trailblazing women who changed the course of history.
