About Me

I was born in Kilgore and graduated from KHS. After working in the business world and volunteering in classrooms, I decided that my passion was teaching. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler. I began teaching in 1990 and came "back home" in 1998 where I have taught English and reading at all three grade levels.

At the present time, I teach 8th grade English and ESL and sponsor KMS Student Council.

My husband John has retired from working for contractors and architects in the building of schools. We have two sons who graduated from KHS. Jeffrey is working in Portland, OR, after completing his degree at Western Michigan, and Richard is the orchestra director for Kempner High School after completing his graduate work at SFA.
