Matt Bodinham

Many of you will know Matt Bodinham, one of our church members, husband to Amy, and father to KBC’s youngest attendee Jonah! Matt is a trained youth worker. Several years ago, after completing his training with Reign Ministries in Bicester, he returned to his home town of Woodstock and was the impetus behind the establishment of the Woodstock Youth Work Trust in July 2016 as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). For more about the story see the website - or ask Matt!

The Trust’s stated mission is: ‘To help teenagers in Woodstock realise their identity in Christ through discipleship & mission, and engage them as disciple-makers’. Matt is employed by the trust to further this vision. He is involved in various youth work initiatives and clubs during the week and is involved in the churches and schools. Since September 2020 he has served as a chaplain at Marlborough C of E School where he spends two and a half days a week in order to support all of the school community ‘through pastoral presence, mentoring, assemblies, creating space for spiritual exploration, introducing reflection practices, and providing links to the wider community of Woodstock’. More recently he has also started serving as chaplain at Woodstock Primary School for half a day a week. As well as this Matt also volunteers with Gordo Explorer Scouts and is the Training Coordinator for Reign Ministries Expand training for church youth teams - something that our youth team is currently benefiting from!
