Pre-K Rules

Our classroom rules are very simple: Looking Eyes, Listening Ears, Helping Hands, Walking Feet, and Quiet Voices.

Our students are also taught a separate set of procedures to follow while in the hallway:

S-Silent

T-Tip Toe

E-Eyes Forward

P-Paws in Place

S-Smile

In our classroom, we use a website/app combination called Class Dojo to reinforce positive choices. I will create a profile for each student, and they will be awarded "Dojo Points" by making good choices, following classroom rules, and working hard. Points can also be taken away when students forget to follow classroom rules. This app is available for you to download on your smart phone, or access through a desktop computer. You can view your child's point total in real-time throughout the day. I will also be able to message you, share photos of our learning, and share important information and updates about our classroom.

Your child will also be given a Take-Home Folder. The left side of the folder will hold daily work that your child completes and information for you to keep at home. The right side of the folder will hold paper work and information that needs to be checked, completed or signed by you and returned the next day. These folders will also hold a monthly behavior log where you can view a record of your child's day. A green smiley face means that your child made great choices throughout the day. I red number means that there was a point in your child's day that good choices were not made. There is a number chart on the bottom of each calendar to tell you about your child's choice. If needed, there will be an added note. It is very important that these folders are kept up with and returned each day.
