Hello! My name is Jeff Brown and I am blessed to be a Bobcat! This will be my 34th year in public education. I am excited to be teaching Principles of Human Services, Project-Based Learning, Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness, and Interpersonal Studies at Kerens Secondary School. I am certified to teach Family and Consumer Sciences, English/Language Arts and Reading, Composite Social Studies, Health, Physical Education and Special Education. In the past, I have taught Reading, English I, II, III, and IV, Economics and AP Economics, US History and AP US History, US Government and AP US Government, World History, World Geography and Health. I am also a certified principal, and have served as dean of students, as principal of an alternative education campus, and have worked as an academic advisor and workforce coordinator at the collegiate level. I also coached various sports for 25 years - football, basketball, track, powerlifting, golf and volleyball. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State University, and a Master of Education degree from Lamar University. I’ve been married for 39 years to my high school sweetheart, Jean Anne. We have one son, Taylor, who is currently a teacher and coach at Lake Travis High School in Austin. I am looking forward to the 2025-26 school year.
