Snow Day Plans!
Let's start with the following witty repartee:
Imagine the scene...you and I, talking at the window, as we watch it snow outside...
OK, enough with the dialogue. Here are the plans:
Snow Day Date: 3/6/2015:
Guys--you may do (and should check to ensure you are making progress on) any of the work below. HOWEVER, I have one specific thing I want you to do on Friday: WRITE OUT AND START PRACTICING YOUR PORTION OF THE PITCH YOU'LL GIVE ON THURSDAY! You need to get your part down and have practiced it a few times by Monday, so your group can then get together and practice next week!
OTHER WORK YOU COULD/SHOULD DO
You guys have PLENTY you can be doing today. Get out your Chromebook, and get to work! Start with the "to-do list" that you and your teammates created in class on Tuesday/Wednesday. What do YOU think needs to take the highest priority for your group to be ready next Thursday? I am going to list ideas below, any of which would be a great way to use your time today, but ultimately this is YOUR CALL.
You could be
completely finishing your website--making sure it will serve as the perfect visual tool to allow you to make an effective pitch on Thursday. Does it have every image/video that you want to be able to show? Is there some text but not so much as to be overwhelming? Are all the links present, live, and functioning? Is there a place for your video, when it's finished?
completely finishing your portion (2 minutes) of the presentation you'll be making on Thursday. If you come to school on Friday/Monday having practiced and tweaked your oral portion, your team is going to be in great shape to practice together this week and put together a seamless pitch. You MAY and in fact I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO have note cards. No full sheets of paper, please.
completely finishing your Executive Summary. If you have the final copy ready to roll by Monday, life will be a lot easier next week.
So, there you go--plenty to do, and this is only a partial list. Get to work! I do encourage you to get out and enjoy the snow as well. It doesn't happen that often in Louisville, so go make some SNOW memories. If you sled, WEAR A HELMET!!! You are hereby commanded to get outside and enjoy your snow day for at least 1 hour!
