Geo Red Sea conference

KAUST

9-12 March, 2020

The conference on the Geologic Evolution, Tectonics, and Resources of the Red Sea (GeoRedSea) will gather more than 50 scientists from all over the world in the fascinating venue of KAUST on March 9-12, 2020.

The scientific program will include three-days of keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations. A one-day field trip is planned in selected locations near KAUST.

UPDATE Feb 27, 2020:

We regret to announce that the KAUST conference on Geologic Evolution, Tectonics and Resources of the Red Sea (9-12 March) has been postponed due to the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. While there have been no cases in Saudi Arabia, some participants from infected areas had to cancel due to travel restrictions. Our health providers expect additional travel restrictions on Europe that would affect more participants. We and several participants are also concerned about international travel during these times of risk.

We plan to run the conference at a later date, likely in a year from now. A new conference date will be communicated in May.
