Review last school years data: Data was presented . Due to pandemic there is huge gaps (pre pandemic compared to post pandemic). But we have a plan and will be working to help each student to close their gaps. One obstacle is that families took vacations during school year. We hope that trend will not happen again.

Over all school data: ELA baseline 42% Q1 55%. Math Baseline 52% Q1 56%
Waivers: Approved four day waiver for SY 2023-2024. When survey comes back to Student, Parent, Teacher Conferences an emergency meeting will be held to review waiver if parents show they are in favor of the proposal. The SCC would like to support teachers on having two days with no school to hold Student Parent Teacher Conference.
Review compact agreement in agenda book: It is good the way it is.
Budget for Sy 2023-2024: We received WSF reserve funding, district will cover deficit for SPEd positions, as long as we continue to receive ESSER funds we will be able to keep all current positions and might be able to get our consoler position back.
Prepare for elections: Community Rep and Teacher Rep will work on advertising for applicants.
Update on school systems/grant: Next Community meeting is on Feb 9 at Key Project.

Student Council report- None in attendance
Election: Same people will be on SCC
Budget for SY 2022-2023: Ms. Li`i will be leaving us and starting at a new school next school year. We will be turning the SSC/Counselor position into a VP position. Teachers voted on this change earlier in the day and all in attendance of that meeting approved it. The SCC support this decision.
Small School Initiative: Dr. Obra and Principal Luke-Payne have created a committee to help create funds to supplant the inadequate funding for Waiahole and Kaaawa. Meetings have been held to gather community, students, and faculty and staff needs and wants. This group is working with several organization to setup a way to have sustainable best practice systems. It is getting closer to actually realizing this system and getting working.

With shutdown of last school year gaining data has been difficult. We just finished Star testing for this quarter and will report on progress at next meeting. There was no SBA testing last school year but there will be this year.

December 02, 2020, 5:00 pm virtual: Email principal to gain link to attend
Student Council report: Due to COVID19 student council elections didn't take place. Therefore there are no student representatives. Principal hopes an election can be held in 3Q.
School data: School data per grade level shared. Student data shows that students were able to maintain proficiency despite school shutdown and Distance Learning.
Waivers: We were approved four waiver days for this year and would like to request four more for net year.
Review compact agreement in agenda book: Keep the same it looks good.
Budget for Sy 2020-2021:10% cuts in every part of school budget. If school limit spending for rest of year the carry over with district support should be enough to keep everyone.
Prepare for elections: Teacher and community positions are up for reelections. Hilary and PJ to find replacement. PJ says if no one wants it she would like to continue. Hilary was not present at meeting.

Budget for Sy 2019-2020
Superintendent funds are not being allocated to Oahu schools, that is a loss of $75,000. Due to problems with some families paperwork we didn't make out count for Title1 funds. That equate to a loss of $36,000. District currently fund half time teacher position because of current shortfall. Next school year we are short $150,000+. Principal Luke-Payne worked with district and district was able to supplant shortfall for all but $14,000. District is working with bigger schools to cover what is left.

Self-evaluation was downloaded from the DOE website. It was dated 2014 but that is what the website and SCC handbook said to use. Therefore, group went through and did self-evaluation.

SC President: Student Council report
None in attendance.
Jenn: School progress of Academic plan,
Budget, Currently as budget stands school will be in a $51,000 deficit if all current positions and purchases are kept as is. Principal has requested fund from State Superintendent reserve funds. The request was made for two teacher position at the cost of $121,720. The principal should hear if Kaaawa Elementary School (KES) will receive any funds by the end of next week. Last year Kaaawa received $61,000. We hope to get the same or better for next year.
Katie: Waivers- None at this time.
Each take turn Bright spots and State/District vision/initiatives
Referrals went down. In school year (SY) 2015-2016 KES had 135 referrals. In SY 2016-2017 there were 16 referrals for chapter 19. That is an 87% decrease in referrals. Half of the school year is gone and so far only five discipline referrals were made.
WASC selfstudy is almost done. The WASC team is coming on Feb 26, 2018-March 1, 2018. The SCC is invited to review and give input for selfstudy and participate for interviews with WASC team.

Teachers help to create plan by looking at where we are and where we want to go. Went over self study, school current data, and what was done during the year to create plan. SCC recommends the Academic Plan.
