Health Education

Health is offered in 7th grade and again at once in 9th-12th . Health is currently offered as a semester course (20 weeks, everyday) or a year long course that meets every other day. After successfully completing the course you will receive ½ credits toward graduation. Health is also a New York requirement for graduation….YOU MUST PASS HEALTH!

Through out the course, we will be discussing various topics about Health. Some topics include mental health, nutrition, personal safety, first aid & safety, environmental health, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, disease prevention & control, personal fitness, and human sexuality. We will also be discussing life skills such as decision making, goal setting, communication skills, stress management, and refusal skills through the various health lessons.
