3/16 Day 1 of remote learning. lets see how this goes!!! There are three documents here for Day 1. The first is a vocabulary list for the Probability Unit. The second is a graphic representation accompanied by some questions to be answered using the illustration, along with some more vocab. The third is a worksheet on probability and likelihood of events- theoretical probability.
3/17- Below is today's work on tree diagrams, sample spaces, the fundamental counting principle, and compound events
In light of all this, some of you may not be able to get out and exercise. So, I included a quick exercise video. Just something to get ya movin!!
3/18-Sorry for the delay. included is the work on independent events for today and tomorrow. I have also included a link to VirtualNerd- a resource for tutorial videos. There is a drop down menu for Probability and also a search bar directly above the Unit list where you can type in the lesson (ie Sample Space, Fundamental Counting Principle, etc. Email me with any questions
Tres/Veinte
So a couple things before we head into the weekend. So far, no work has to be submitted. I will post directives on that when necessary.. Next, I just heard that the state exams have been suspended. What does that mean exactly....? I'm not exactly sure. So, I would not write them off altogether at this point. You should be receiving emails from your other teachers. Each homeroom has its own link in the school's main page. Be sure to look there so you know how to contact your teachers and access any work. If you have any questions, please reach out to someone for help. Also, communication between classmates is definitely encouraged.. it will help keep everyone on the same page hopefully. Below is a video that we made to help everyone understand how important soap is during this critical time. If the image doesn't show it's ok, just double click on it.. That should work.
3/23- Good Morning Everyone. Today is the actual first day of Remote Learning. I'm aware that there are many of you who have been doing the work all along, and then there are some of you who are just seeing this for the first time. Let's take today as a day to acclimate. So, for those of you who are already current with all the math lessons so far, maybe utilize the free time for another subject area.
The proposed schedule provided by MS51, is exactly that, a proposed schedule. For those of you that need some structure to sort out and organize your day, perhaps following the schedule isn't a bad idea. But it's not mandatory. You can play with the lay out to suit your needs/likes. Some of you may want to get math out of the way, or another subject, in the morning, right away. Do what works best for you. Use the flexibility to help you be successful.
Please read all posts. I'm getting many emails about topics that I have already addressed. Other than emails, this is the only place I am posting announcements, work, and videos (videos on the "Remote Learning Videos" page). With that said, just to confirm one more time- at the moment no work is to be submitted. How you choose to do the worksheets at the moment is up to you. You can download and print the worksheets, or do the work in your book. If you're doing the work in your notebook then make sure you're recording the name of the worksheet and number the problems. This way if I, or someone else, references a problem on a particular worksheet you'll be able to locate it quickly.
Ok People, we now have codes for Google Classroom- if you like you can use the code and join your class. At the moment nothing has been posted- so you're just signing up to be a part of the class.
Codes by class:
** Make sure that you're using the code for your class, and only signing into your class.. Thanks
3/24- Experimental Probability- On the first page titled "Elliptical Lake" you can use fractions and proportions to help you answer the question
3/25- Good Morning Everyone!! Rise and Shine.. So I posted a quiz in Google Classroom. I did it in a way that you all should have your own copy- sent to your Google Drive. I listed a due date for 3/30, which is Monday, 5 days from now. I'm aware that there are some students who are still getting adjusted to remote learning and have only been online for a couple days. So, with that in mind, I am not assigning any work for today. Those of you that need the extra time to catch up, now have some, and the rest of you can use this time to study or attend to your work for another class.
This is the first posted quiz, so we will use this as an experiment for all future assessments. let me know if you have any questions. Hopefully, we can get through this smoothly.
3/26 Good Morning- I posted a question for today in Google Classroom- that's the only assignment for today.
3/30 - Quiz due today (On Google Classroom). Please review the topics and videos before submitting your answers.
3/31- Below is the work for the next couple days on Dependent Events. I posted a video last week on Independent Events and Dependent Events. I suggest watching that before hand. The third worksheet includes Independent Events, so be sure to read the directions so you don't get them mixed up.
Also, everyday I will be posting a question on Google Classroom. It will not be graded, but the school will be using your response as a means to take daily attendance in my class. I will also be using it as part of your participation grade, under engagement. Your answers must be submitted before 3pm. If not, you're marked absent for that day.
4/6 Quiz has been posted on Google Classroom- due April 9th. Review Independent and Dependent Events
Don't forget to answer and submit the daily questions on Google Classroom, they count as participation and attendance for the day
row 1: 15 + 15 + 15 = 45
row 2: 7 + 7 + 7= 21
row 3: 3 + 6 + 3= 12
row 4: 3 + 5 x 14 = 73
4/20- Greetings All. Time to get back to work full time. We will be starting a new unit, on Statistics. Below you will find an outline on the introductory vocabulary and two worksheets. Take the next couple days to read through the outline and complete the worksheets. Don't forget to check out the videos on the Remote Learning Video Page.
P.S. Also, don't forget to answer the Daily Question on Google Classroom

5/4- Use the study sheet to review and prepare for quiz. Use the previous videos from the unit to help. Any questions don't hesitate to email me.
5/6- We are now on our last unit- Angle measurements. We will first review solving equations with variables on both sides- a necessary skill for this unit. Below is the lesson and the corresponding worksheet.
5/7- Take the next couple days to review the basic geometry terms and complete the interior sums worksheet.. Check out the videos for help with the interior angle problems
5/11- Next we are working with supplementary and complementary angles. Be sure to read all of the lesson and watch the videos before completing the questions/worksheets.
5/13 Good Morning All. The next lesson is on Exterior angles. Don't forget that the sum of all angles in a triangle is 180, and. for quadrilaterals it's 360. Please read the following lesson, watch the videos, and complete the worksheets. Remember, if you have any questions/concerns do not hesitate to email us.
5/18- Here is the next lesson on angle relationships. Use the illustrations and the definitions to help you with the examples. This should be done by Wednesday the latest.
5/21- Here is the next lesson-Parallel Lines cut (intersected) by a Transversal. Watch the videos, read all the examples- this lesson has a bunch of vocabulary. Complete the practice problems on the worksheet. Use the outline's examples to help you with the practice problems. Watch the video more than once if need be. Reach out if you need help
5/28- Above you will find the last worksheet for this unit. I also posted the answers. Let me know if you have any questions..
6/1- Well, here we are- last month of the school year, last unit. Some of this should be familiar to you, for we tackled exponents within the Algebra Unit. We are back at it again. The first outline is a refresher. Please read all the explanations and examples. The second two sheets will review the laws of exponents providing you with examples that you can read and try out on your own. The fourth document is a worksheet pertaining to the two laws outlined on the previous documents. Need help?? Sign up for office hours or email me! Also, if you owe any work try to get it done as soon as possible-my grades have to be submitted in 3 weeks. Anything not done gets a zero.
6/4- Next part of the unit involves some new material- zero and negative laws. This can get a bit complicated. Take your time reading the notes and examples. Reach out if you need any help or have any questions.
6/10- Hopefully you all have finished with the Exponent Quiz that was due yesterday. Below is the lesson on Exponent rules for when a power is raised by another power. This is commonly shown when there is an exponent inside a set of parentheses and on the outside.
Also grades in Pupil Path are all done up to and including last week.
6/12
Extra credit- due June 17th
Since Covid happened, we haven’t been in school, and as a result I have not had one peanut butter and jelly sandwich- this is a truth. I want you to calculate the percent of the school year that I did eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You must take into consideration all the days off we had for holidays, and the total number of days I was absent- which was 4. You are to assume that for every day of school that I was present, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which is probably also true. You may also assume that I will not have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at all for the remainder of the school year. Another thing you should assume is I only ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at work-just to clarify. I will allow a margin of 2% error- which means if you are within 2% of the actual percentage, you will get full credit. Oh, and YOU MUST SHOW ALL YOUR WORK!!!!!! IF YOUR WORK DOES NOT CLEARLY SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER, YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN CREDIT.. Good Luck
6/16- Good Morning ALL!!
Here is the next lesson on exponents. Today we are multiplying and dividing different bases with the same exponents. You will be simplifying/ evaluating and rewriting these expressions. Please read the outline and all the examples. Use them to help you with the worksheet as well.. Oh, and of course- WATCH THE VIDEOS!! let us know if you have any questions- btw Ms. Arniella is back!!!
