Our current research efforts include characterizing and determining the biological activity and molecular targets of small molecules, especially natural products, molecular recognition and interactions, and bio-inspired design. We use computational chemistry, structural biology, organic synthesis, as well as "omics" and biochemical (in vitro and in vivo) tools and assays to discover new bioactive molecules, study how bioactive compounds interact with molecular targets, and identify macromolecules or pathways targeted by bioactive small molecules. We hope that the knowledge generated from our work will help develop new therapies and materials.
